Creating habitats through reforestation

Team Events with Sustainable Added Value

Table of contents

Over 3000 seedlings have been planted by our colleagues at CYBERDYNE in the past three years. The annual team event not only supports reforestation but also ensures a real sense of community.

Since 2021, CYBERDYNE has been reforesting the Hürtgen Forest in the Eifel together with Wald und Holz NRW. The forest has a tragic war history: In 1944 and 1945, the longest battle of the war on German soil took place here. Now, the forest is to be given new life.

Every spring, approximately 30 CYBERDYNE employees meet in the Hürtgen Forest and plant 1000 seedlings. Since 2021, over 3000 seedlings have already been planted in the name of CYBERDYNE. Newly planted seedlings are very sensitive. The slightest discrepancies in the condition of the soil or weather conditions can harm the seedling. They are also particularly susceptible to pests and diseases and serve as a food source for rodents. From the 1000 seedlings planted annually, approximately 200 mature trees are expected to grow.

Mixed forests connect a variety of animal and plant species and ensure that they find a permanent habitat. Reforestation of forests thus makes an important contribution to promoting biodiversity. A species-rich forest is also more resistant to diseases, pests, and extreme weather events.

The seedlings not only have an ecological benefit but also a symbolic value. At the end of the year, CYBERDYNE symbolically gifts a tree to each of its customers as a sign of appreciation. The collective planting is also a formative community experience for employees. It strengthens team spirit, promotes exchange, and contributes to a corporate culture where collaboration and responsibility have high priority.
