How we put organic waste to good use

As a corporate group with numerous locations, we face the daily challenge of finding sustainable solutions for our everyday work. A concrete problem: Fruit and vegetable scraps from the office kitchen, tea bags, or paper towels generate a lot of organic waste at our locations every day. However, there is usually no separate organic waste collection. A few of our locations do have composting options in the garden, but that isn’t possible everywhere, especially in urban settings or smaller office spaces.

That’s why we introduced an alternative solution: electric composters that convert organic waste into valuable compost in just a few hours. The compact devices handle a wide range of organic waste—from fruit and vegetable peels to food leftovers and even biodegradable materials such as tea bags or paper towels. Even garden waste such as leaves can be processed.

The resulting compost is then used for the plants that grow in and around our locations. Our employees can also take the compost home for their own gardens and houseplants. This creates a closed loop—what used to be waste becomes something valuable again.

Electric composters are already in use at more than ten of our group’s locations. They prevent organic waste from ending up in general waste—without any additional collection or disposal effort. Instead, we turn waste into something useful and embed sustainability and circularity directly into everyday work—even in small, everyday projects.
